More than 6 months in the planning, this was CHEF’s big public debut. We were able to snag some big names to present this half-day event at Elgin Community College. Bright and early starting at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019, nearly 100 people attended. They came from as far away as Chicago and Rockford. Medical doctors, nurses, nutritionists, chefs, teachers, students, home cooks, and the curious attended. The focus of this event was to talk about improving health through better eating, backed by science. Each presenter is an expert in their field.

“Heart Disease and Nutrition: Prevention is the New Intervention”

An enthusiastic view of how heart disease can be prevented by changing our diet away from our SAD (Standard American Diet) composed of mostly processed foods.  By eating whole foods—fruits, vegetable and beans, legumes and seeds and nuts—and have fun doing it.
